Jeremiah smiles sheepishly. "Yeah. It's funny; I don't really care that much about the main plot, with the revenge and all. I think the Count's relationships with the people in his life are a lot more interesting than the scum he's avenging himself on. I guess that's part of what bothers me about how they always botch the ending: it's when he actually realizes he could have a good life and just be this amazing person that Haydee obviously knows he is, instead of just having to be nothing without his tragic past and his hate... I know that's not what most people think the 'point' of the book is, but... um... they're wrong."
